Six Zero Sapphire Pickleball Paddle Review (2024)

The Six Zero Sapphire – All Rounder Paddle

What's the Six Zero Sapphire Paddle Play Like

First off, I am not YET a pickleball expert. Over the last number of months though, I've probably spent about 10 – 12 hours a week playing pickleball. I am getting better. But my serve continued to suck.

Initially I played with an ultra cheap $42 starter paddle from Amazon.
I had more important things to focus on than the quality of the paddle.

No point in having an expensive paddle and a 2-cent game, right? Now however, I have the basics down, and and I'm putting work, a lot of work on improving my game.

So recently I decided to get a few mid priced paddles top check out.

Based on the specs, this was one. Because it was not expensive but the specs looked great.

When I started playing with it, I noticed an immediate improvement. And I am not kidding.
I've developed more confidence in my serve. I am hitting more acurately, quite a bit harder, and with a reasonable amount of top spin.

In out of town drop-in I played at a week ago, the people there were saying how strong my serve was. They didn't believe me when I told them the short amount of time I've been playing.

I gave the paddle a lot of the credit and one of them said he was going to order one that night.

It just feels great. I thank SIx Zero. I am truly impressed with the Six Zero Sapphire.

Six Zero Sapphire Pickleball Paddle Review (1)

We have decided to do a Review of the Six Zero Sapphire Pickleball Paddle. Here's why!
Recently, I came across the Six Zero Sapphire when I was watching a video about Six Zero's more premium Diamond Series.

I had not heard of Six Zero before, which makes sense because 1) they are a relatively small, new company, 2) they are based in Australia, and 3) so far at least they aren't selling through regular retail channels.

I'll leave the talk about the currently red hot, Six Zero Diamond and Double Black Diamond for another day. But suffice it to say, after reading over the specs of them, and of their original paddle, the Six Zero Sapphire, I decided to pull the trigger on the Six Zero Sapphire.

Six Zero Sapphire Specifications:

Per Six Zero the technical specs of the Sapphire are as follows:

  • Registered Approval Body:USA Pickleball
  • Face material:700K Japanese Toray Carbon
  • Length:16.5” / 420mm
  • Width:7.5” / 190 mm
  • Core Thickness:0.51” / 13mm
  • Grip Length:5.6” / 142mm
  • Grip circumference:4.25” / 108mm
  • Average Weight: 7.9-8.0 ounces / 225-228gm +/- 5gm

So what is unique about this? Well, the world of pickleball paddles is changing quickly.

Even 6 months ago getting a Thermoformed, Carbon Fibre paddle was fairly unique, as there weren't many of them in the marketplace yet. And the ones that were there were pretty expensive. They were between $180 – $250 US.

What Does our Six Zero Sapphire Paddle Review Conclude?

What's really unique about the Six Zero Sapphire is that Not only is it Thermoformed and Carbon Fibre, it's the ultra premium 700K Tooray Carbon Fibre from Japan. Only a few paddle companies list their source for their carbon fibre as T700 Tooray Carbon.

We'll get into the unique properties of this premium component in another post shortly.

The other unique feature getting a thermoformed carbon fibre paddle from a respected name brand company with a price of only $125 Canadian. I had to double check when I read that. – now $112.50 Canadian with discount Code “PICKLEBALLTODAY”

The the combination of the thermoforming, premium manufacturing process along with premium carbon fibre from Japan, combined with a price point of only $125 CANADIAN meant Pickleball Today had to give it a go. – now $112.50 Canadian with discount Code “PICKLEBALLTODAY”

Note that shipping is free, but it is coming from the US. I find it a bit inconsistent whether at this price point you get dinged with duty, and I can't recall if I did or not. But free shipping from US to Canada is rare anyway so I'm not worried if I paid a bit of duty.
